Welcome to Sarah Fletcher Therapy.
A safe space to explore thoughts, emotions and experiences without judgment.
I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist registered with the BACP. I support children, teenagers and adults in both private practice and secondary school settings.
My work focuses on supporting clients with anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, relationships, grief and low mood. I have extensive experience working with clients facing complex challenges, including family difficulties, neurodiversity and the pressures of modern life.
Alongside my work in schools and private practice I support children and adults involved with adoption services and receiving support from social care. Through this work I have developed a strong understanding of attachment, developmental trauma and the impact that early experiences and family circumstances can have on emotional wellbeing and relationships.
My work is trauma-informed, meaning I recognise how past experiences can shape thoughts, emotions and behaviour. I aim to provide a compassionate and supportive therapeutic space where clients feel heard, respected and empowered to better understand themselves, build resilience and develop healthier ways of coping.
My work is supported by regular clinical supervision and I am currently completing post graduate studies in Counselling Supervision at the University of Salford due to finish in June 2026.

My Integrative approach means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support each client in a way that feels meaningful and appropriate for them. Rather than using a single model I adapt my approach to the individuals, recognising that every person's experiences are unique.
At the heart of my work is a person-centred approach, creating a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space where clients can feel heard and understood.
Alongside this, I integrate ideas and techniques from several therapeutic approaches, including:
My promise is to offer a safe, supportive and confidential space where you can feel seen, heard and understood.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of counselling and psychotherapy. I aim to create an environment that is compassionate, non-judgmental and honest, where you can explore thoughts, behaviour and experiences.
Whether you are facing anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties or life changes, my role is to support you in making sense of your experiences, developing resilience and finding ways to move forward that feel right for you.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a secondary school counsellor, providing therapeutic support for children and young people experiencing emotional, behavioural and relational difficulties.
For over eight years I have worked therapeutically with children, young people and adults using a range of creative and accessible tools and psychoeducation to help clients explore their emotions, particularly when experiences feel difficult to put into words.
I have experience supporting looked-after children and young people, as well as those living in complex family systems or receiving support from social care services. My work also includes supporting parents within a mother and baby assessment unit, where therapeutic understanding of attachment, early relationships and parenting capacity is essential.
Within these roles I collaborate with wider professional networks, including attending multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings alongside social workers, education staff and other professionals to support the wellbeing and safeguarding of children and families.

I offer integrative clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, trainee therapists and professionals working within helping relationships. My approach is collaborative and reflective, providing a supportive space to think deeply about client work, ethical practice, emotional impact and professional development. I aim to create a supervision relationship where supervisees feel both safely supported and appropriately challenged.
My practice is grounded within person-centred values whilst integrating attachment theory, trauma informed practice, CBT, DBT, relational work, parts work and systemic thinking. I work with an awareness of how trauma, neurodiversity, safeguarding concerns and wider systemic pressures can impact on both clients and practitioners. Alongside private practice, I have extensive experience working within secondary schools, complex trauma settings, safeguarding systems, adoption support services, court related work and multi-disciplinary environments. My experience includes supporting practitioners working with self-harm, suicidal ideation, neurodiversity, grief, attachment, trauma, family conflict, emotional dysregulation and complex relational dynamics.
I work with both qualified and trainee practitioners and welcome supervisees from a range of therapeutic modalities and professional backgrounds.
